Irish artist Cian Godfrey is the one man juggernaut behind Somebody's Child and if you've yet to have the pleasure then new single 'Broken Record' is a great jumping off point. Fresh and energetic guitars are matched with a driving drum beat to create a real sense of hope and optimism that goes straight to your head like the first sip of a pint or the first drag on a fag. Godfrey's vocal is assured and accomplished but has an edge of the weary troubadour about it with hints of Springsteen and Fender around the edges. Uplifting indie rock with an authentic voice?
