Young Exeter musician Max Tyler resisted the call of the acoustic singer-songwriter route to musical success, instead preferring to go down a more electronic path and we should all be grateful for that. Tyler's new single 'Dark Skies' is a moody and brooding track that rumbles in the bass and undulates in the melody with a synthetically organic energy. The vocals are dripping in autotune which is usually a massive turn off for me but it kind of works here as another instrument in the mix creating an ambient-trance-pop vibe that carries you away to another place.
