This is genuinely one of the most
entrancing and engaging pieces of new music I’ve hit play on in quite a while
as Pauli the PSM brings us in to their world. ‘I Got The Beat’ mixes some raw
drumming with a vocal style that reminds me of Maxi Jazz delivering a stream of
consciousness with very little other instrumentation for the most part. This is
an introduction to a person with a range of influences on their life, their
music and their thinking but as you might expect from this song, the beat takes
centre stage with jazz inspired freestyle drumming underpinning every syllable.
