Vancouver femme fatale Kandle has
assembled a crack squad of assassins for new single ‘Honey Trap’ so you’d
better watch your back. The noir-rock theme draws influence from the likes of
Muse, Kimbra and Paloma Faith as the guitars keep themselves just about
contained, the strings sweep like a Bond theme and the piano chords stab like a
hairpin through the jugular. Vocally, Kandle has that rare quality of being
both melodious enough for pop and strong enough for rock with plenty of personality
to bridge that gap.
