BEACH RIOT – SINGLE REVIEW

Beach Riot – Sofa Surfers (Alcopop! Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Before I get in to reviewing this slice of aceness from the increasingly impressive Beach Riot, I just want you to scroll to the bottom of this review and then back up again. That’s right, that’s a genuine and very much extensive list of UK tour dates (nothing west of Bristol but beggars can’t be chooser) which it was an absolute delight to type up – fingers crossed the gigs get to go ahead. Now, this tune, ‘Sofa Surfers’, hits as hard as you’d expect from these guys with the chunkiest riffs, pounding drums and close harmony vocals. However, there’s a new swagger on this which sounds like Royal Blood meets Queens of the Stone Age and feels like walking into a pub on your 18th birthday, knowing that nothing can stop you now. These guys just go from strength to strength and this is possibly their best track yet so keep those fingers crossed for the gigs.
