It’s always difficult in the early days of a
band when you have to change the line-up, especially when you’ve started to
gain some momentum, but Norwich band Kaves seem to have coped remarkably well
with the addition of new vocalist Caitlin. Forthcoming single ‘TBT’ is an
absolute belter with the kind of drums and guitar battle that you get on a Foo
Fighters track but then, well, then there’s the chorus. Dropping things down so
that Caitlin can deliver the cutting line “Who do you think you’re fooling this
time?” the band manage to keep the tension under control while those vocals
snake and dart around you. This is British rock at its finest, full of power,
energy and attitude, so it feels like the line-up change was nothing more than
a swerve in the road, the Kaves juggernaut just keeps on rolling.
