Easy Wanderlings - Summer Is Away/Enjoy It While It Lasts

Release Date: Out Now

There isn't a lot of information out there about Easy Wanderlings but when a band comes along stating their influences to include the likes of Bob Dylan, the Eagles, Nick Drake, Fleet Foxes and Fleetwood Mac then I'm going to be naturally intrigued and you should be too. This double single starts with 'Summer Is Away', a tune full of autumnal mourning and each plucked guitar string is the sound of a leaf falling from a branch. The lyrics are key here as they are more like poetry than you standard song words so it is fitting that the music is kept minimalist with just guitar notes being given some warmth by occasional violin strains. The other side of this particular coin is 'Enjoy It While It Lasts' which takes a more Norah Jones approach with that simple guitar being lavished with rich, jazzy vocals and a sweetly pure tone. Easy Wanderlings are the kind of quiet, unassuming act that could easily slip under the radar but, at the same time, they also create exactly the kind of music we all need to keep us from going mad in this frenetic world. Like sinking in to your favourite chair or slipping in to a warm bath, these guys allow you to breathe and for that we should be grateful.
