HECTOR GANNET - SINGLE REVIEW

Hector Gannet - The Mother Tongue (Wipe Out
Music/Guga Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Firstly, Hector Gannet is a fantastic name and makes me want to hire him as my private detective in 1930s England. Secondly, 'The Mother Tongue' is an instantly infectious track if you're into the likes of Hozier, Sam Fender, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan. There's a joyfulness to the layers of sound featuring organ, guitars, horns, bass, drums and topped off with Gannet's gravelly vocal. This is music to make you release and revel after a hard week of work which something we all need from time to time. Also a good driving song I'd wager but from my desk in Cornwall I couldn't attest to that just yet.
