'The Slippery Eel of Discontent' might sound like a Mighty Boosh character (with a Norwich accent in my head, not sure why) but it is, in fact, the new single from the fabulously talented Granfalloon. Opening with intimate vocals and a super-cool riff, the song soon expands into something more akin to the Divine Comedy with crooning style and panache blended perfectly with indie melodies. There's warmth and kindness in the arrangement while the vocals are so deep and rich that you just want to sit and listen to them over dinner for a few hours while the world spins outside your window. Seriously, bring back the phonebook and I'd listen to this guy sing it. Sumptuous stuff.
