I'm not always keen on covers but there is a certain poignancy to this one as Danish artist MO honours her late friend Avicii with a cover of his worldwide hit, 'Wake Me Up'. There's a brooding energy to this version with a bubbling bass and sparse beat but MO's vocal adds a seductiveness to proceedings that is unexpected but not unwelcome. Eventually, the track turns into the club banger we always wanted without losing any of the emotion that the original is famed for. A superb tribute.
