Not one but two new tracks from Japanese alt-indie outfit TAMIW which is double the pleasure. First up comes 'Deep'n'Shallow' full of swaggering, dirty bass lines, itchy guitars and the kind of beat that you want to plug directly into your veins. The vocals switch between Shirley Manson-esque steely confidence and an alien delivering an earth-shattering message but it works. The second track, 'Overcome', is more trippy and laid-back with vocal harmonies and electro-piano melodies played out over a clattering, intermittent beat which is somewhere between Sneaker Pimps and a mash up of Morcheeba and the Aphex Twin. If you're looking for a band to get obsessed with as we head into 2025 then you could an awful lot worse than TAMIW.
