The brilliant Blank Atlas have a new single and a clutch of live dates coming up this week so it is time to get both involved and excited but not necessarily in that order. 'If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them' finds the Bristol based trio in blistering form as this 106 second track blasts into a wall of sound that is both intense and wondrous - like staring God in the face and realising that not only is he a handsome devil but he's also got great breath. The ferocity of the riffs and drumming reminds me of Reuben in their pomp but with the angry sons of the Beach Boys pulling off some luxurious vocal harmonies. Intensely brilliant stuff.
