THE MENSTRUAL CRAMPS - SINGLE REVIEW

The Menstrual Cramps - Class War (Alcopop!
Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Bristol outfit the Menstrual Cramps are never ones to shy away from a 'difficult topic' in their songs so it was only a matter of time before new single 'Class War' was birthed into the world. Musically, this is typically direct and abrupt garage punk with a vocal delivery is the polar opposite of the X-Factor over-warbling style that was once so popular. "Top down, Education, Top down, Feed the nation, Trickledown, Economics, They never work. Ugh, put a sock in it" they sing with a sneer in the vocal and a withering sense of just having had enough of the bollocks peddled to those at the bottom of the pile. Just when you think everyone is distracted by Love Island and Married At First Sight, along comes a band like the Menstrual Cramps to reassure you that some people are still paying attention.
