I'd be lying if I said I was expecting this collaboration between John Grant and Big Special but I'm not going to pretend I don't love it as a prospect. 'Stay Down, Lazarus' throbs and churns like a Viking battle ship fighting against enormous waves until you find yourself in the eye of the storm where a Black Country preacher is giving his sermon from a rocky outcrop. This is intense, arresting and intentionally aggressive stuff but what else did you expect from a Big Special track woven with John Grant's own brand of NYC charm? Eat your heart out Peaky Blinders.
