Freak Slug is the brilliantly evocative stage name of Manchester musician Xenya Genovese and 'Spells' is her direct new single so jump on in. A lo-fi bassline and beat combination sets the scene before the uber-cool and no-fucks-given vocals swan in to steal the show. This could easily be the soundtrack to a coming-of-age indie movie set in Seattle or New York so I'd be spending a bunch of time getting this synced up to some cool projects because its the kind of song that will get new fans whenever its played to a fresh ears.
