Ah, Manu Chao. The ever reliable sound of summer himself. 'Viva Tu' is the latest single from the French-Spanish singer-songwriter and it sure is a tonic on these grey and damp summer days in the UK. Latin-tinged guitars and a clapped rhythm are soon joined by Manu Chao's meandering and easy vocals and, well, that's all you really need. For a song with a title that literally means "long may you live", this track feels like it literally gives you life in the same way as getting away for a few days or sitting in a town square with strangers, sipping a cold drink and revelling luxuriously in the simplicity of life away from the daily grind.
