This is the debut release from British singer-songwriter Fiaa Hamilton (Sophia Hamilton to her mum) and 'Love War' is a great title for a single, whichever way you look at it. Musically speaking, this has a polished, American influenced alt-pop meets R&B electro vibe which fits in nicely alongside the likes of UPSAHL, Madison Beer or Sabrina Carpenter. However, there's a driving, thumping 80s inspired beat that elevates the track into Katy Perry territory while the vocals swing, pendulum like, from soft and demure to confident and strident with consummate ease. An impressive debut which promises more, without doubt.
