East Anglian trio the Baby Seals are a new act for my ears but they are very welcome if new single 'Vibrator' is anything to go by. Fuzzy bass and pounding drums get us underway before spacey guitars and dead-eyed vocals join in like a mix of the Lovely Eggs, Lambrini Girls and the Raincoats. The chorus explodes in a psyched out and grunged up sound which is, well, climactically orgasmic and that is the point, I think. Energy, directness, melodies, attitude and sex appeal.
