VINCE FREEMAN - SINGLE REVIEW

Vince Freeman - Powers/Imposter

Release Date: Out Now

I'm being a bit cheeky here and bundling two single releases in to one but I'm keen to make sure you're aware of both of these songs from Plymouth song-man Vince Freeman. 'Powers' is up first with a soft-shoe shuffle of a blues melody that Otis Redding would approve of and a gravelly voice that Van Morrison would groove along to with a knowing look. There is soul too with a Commitments vibe in the arrangement giving Freeman plenty of space to let his vocals roam.

On 'Imposter' Freeman explores a more commercial and poppy side to his sound with hints of James Morrison, Samuel Jack and Paolo Nutini. The melodies and vocals are heartfelt, the beat driving and the production values impressive which seals the deal on getting me excited about 2024 for Vince Freeman - there's an album out in March so consider these tracks warning shots.
