Devon duo Burr Island are building quite the buzz around their burgeoning career and latest single 'English Roses' will do nothing to quieten that buzz. Rippling guitars and sublime vocal harmonies are all they need to get this song underway and then they set about weaving a tapestry of nostalgia for summer days, simple pleasures and even simpler times. Sure, there are Simon and Garfunkel tones to this, but there is also a very English accent to the whole song and it sounds incredibly crisp, especially when the piano notes join in to pierce the melodies like sprinkled dew drops on fresh green grass.
