The instantly apologetic nature of the lyrics on 'People Pleaser', the new single from Marianna Winter, is something I can instantly identify with so I was hooked in from the get-go. The woozy melodies and slightly hypnotic beat give this track a disorientating vibe and the vocals of the American-Faroese artist are brilliantly breathy, fitting perfectly in to the alt-pop scene. So I'm sold well before the slinky guitar solo and brilliantly abrupt ending but I'm not just saying that to keep her happy. Honest.
