The Velvet Starlings hail from sunny Los Angeles and they aren't hanging around on new single 'Bullfight'. The band come straight out of the traps with a garage-punk track that reminds me of early material by the Strokes or the Stooges before the guitars become more angular, an organ sneaks on to the stage and the whole shebang goes more shoegaze-psyche on our collective asses. This is itchy, twitchy, rough and raw stuff full of energy, ideas and very few boundaries which is exactly what you want from new and exciting artists.
