WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR - SINGLE REVIEW

William the Conqueror - The Puppet and
the
 Puppeteer (Chrysalis Records)

Release Date: Out Now

There are a couple of pretty extensive tours coming up for Cornish trio William the Conqueror but for now we need to make do with latest single, 'The Puppet and the Puppeteer'. This is a moody, swampy blues trudge with that trademark Ruarri Joseph vocal telling stories and weaving tales like that guy who is a fixture at the end of your local boozer's bar. The bass rolls gently and the drums take a back seat but keep things moving gently but the bristling energy soon bubbles to the surface in euphoric glory. That tour (and the album) can't come soon enough.
