I will admit that Speech Debelle dropped off my radar for a bit there but that's entirely on me so I'm glad to get her talents firmly back in my sights with her new single. 'Wayward' starts with a lazily picked acoustic melody before the beat joins in and then Debelle's flow takes your attention with its ease and warmth. This song ebbs and flows with an undulating energy that feels brilliantly organic and as though the whole thing came together in one take without rehearsals, takes or do overs.
