I don't know what it is but there is something distinctly Scottish about this new single from East-Midlander Charlotte Carpenter and I can't quite put my finger on it. 'Spinning Plates' deals with the trials and tribulations of being a woman in the music industry, not holding back as the driving drums and punchy guitars really drive the message home. Carpenter's steely vocals let you know that there's no hint of irony here and the video brilliantly lampoons the absurdity of it all.
