My cross-Atlantic namesake Timothy Monger has put his head above the trenches again with new single 'Luna Pier' and I should warn you that it opens with the sound of water being gently paddled so don't pop this one on if you have a full bladder. A lazy but warm acoustic strum soon wafts across the water with a vibe that feels like the end of a film where the protagonist has survived an apocalypse against all odds. French language vocals and strings make the song swell in size but every now and again Monger throws in a note or a key change that catches you off guard and keeps your heading spinning. Gorgeous, unpredictable and delicately beautiful.
