Girl Ray are a trio of ladies from London who like to roam the countryside dressed in cow themed clothing playing their bongos (amazingly, none of that is a euphemism). 'Hold Tight' finds our daring three-piece in the wild with a funky set of riffs that border on reggae but veer off towards understated indie-pop with a pulsating bass line and those bongos rattling away in the background. This feels like a long lost Bananarama demo with Terry Hall noodling away in the background and, honestly, I love it. The cow motif I could live without.
