New York duo Overcoats are fast working their way in to my affections and new single 'Winner' continues the love affair. The gentle, folk-pop of the opening chords mixes Taylor Swift, First Aid Kit and the Indigo Girls as the song grows from simple piano and vocal playfulness in to something more stirring and uplifting. The real trick to the pair's impact, however, is their tight vocal harmonies which sound like spun gold and come with real pop power in the vein of Wilson Phillips and I'm here for that all day long.
