Annelle Staal - My Girl

North Carolina's Annelle Staal is, apparently, big on Twitch but I'm no Twitcher so this is the first I'm coming across her music. 'My Girl' is a great stepping off point for anyone like me as it shows off Staal's breezy pop style and infectious melodies which feel like they were conceived in the 60s and polished off in the 90s. There's a purity to the affection in the lyrics which speaks of the excitement of meeting someone new and those first rushes of attraction. Understated but not to be underestimated and never underrated.
