COMFORT - SINGLE REVIEW

Comfort - Real Woman (Fat Cat Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Glasgow duo Comfort are back with new single 'Real Woman' which hits as hard as ever but also intrigues and challenges at each and every turn. A perky and bubbling melody comes over the top of skittish beat while the lyrics are half wrapped and half ranted in a voice that is part Mark E Smith and part Kate Nash. This song is a stream of consciousness based on the experience and existence of frontwoman Natalie as a trans woman in the 21st century and aside from being a great song it is absolutely stuffed full of insight, wry observation and a particularly unique voice. This needs to shared, celebrated and probably studied at schools everywhere - it's that good and that important.
