Balkan Ska Reggae Folk from Plymouth anyone? I thought so. The Cabarats open new single 'Don't Know Why' with a sound akin to walking in to a haunted circus on Halloween but then the Balkan rhythms kick in. Part Tankus the Henge, part Gogol Bordello and part Madness but with the odd Ennio Morricone guitar sound chucked in for good measure, this is one of those tunes that will keep you guessing throughout. A lot of fun but not to be dismissed as throw away fodder - this is brilliantly complex and intricately constructed joy to behold.
