Regular readers will know that I'm a big fan of Cornish vocalist Maisy Grace but this is something different from the vocalist and something very, very good. 'Circles' sees her team up with producer Kounchilhouse and, sure, those soulful, sultry alt-pop vocals are still there with maybe a little more maturity and self-assured confidence. What's different is that Grace has moved on acoustic singer-songwriter territory to something more energetic as Kouncilhouse provides skittish, Roni Size-esque beats, a Blu DeTiger bass line, some sprinkled melodies and a few jazzy trumpet trills. This is cool, energetic, soulful, vibey and just so, so good. There's more to come from this collaboration and, based on this, you will want to pay close attention.
