I am increasingly of the opinion that Fe Salomon is one of the most innovative and interesting artists in the UK at the moment and possibly far beyond this isolated little island. 'Quintessentially English' is a quirky and angular hot take on the idea of escaping to the country being an overrated idea based on Salomon's own experience. Channeling the likes of Kate Bush, Shakespeare's Sister, Bjork and Moloko at their most adventurous, this track clicks, whirs and delights like a homemade music box full of delights. It also smells of Earl Grey tea and rosemary.
