Whenever Azu Yeche appears in my inbox I get a little smile on my face because I know a treat lies in wait. New single 'Be That Guy' is one of those treats as Yeche mixes soulful Motown vibes with the kind of political lyrics that Marvin Gaye or Al Green would have been proud of. "Centuries, centuries of oppression" is a line that could be sung with anger and rage but instead this has smooth sweetness in the voice and a calming but reassuring influence which somehow gets the message across in a far more devastating way. Beautiful music with an important but equally beautiful message.
