Cornish multi-instrumentalist Nell Davies brings new single 'A Sad Kind Of Freedom' to the table and it's an angular, bouncy slice of indie-pop. Lo-Fi is the order of the day as the guitar line is matched by a French police siren of a keyboard melody and a punchy little beat that is picking fights with the bigger kids. Davies has a charm to her songwriting that reminds of the slew of Welsh indie bands that emerged in the mid-90s as a response to Britpop and that kind of music will always have a place in my heart.
