My favourite Canadian trio Monowhales are back with new single 'New Threads' and it is yet another slice of sonic gold. A somewhat subdued verse full of Metronomy-esque vibes gives way to a soaring sunblast of a chorus that makes you want to poke your head through the sun roof of a limo as it cruises down the Californian coastal roads. Monowhales make the kind of music that lifts your spirits and moves your hips but don't take this for vacuous pop, there is substance here and that's the real treat for attentive listeners.
