Enigmatic Plymouth based indie-folk collective Drakes Island are back with their first new music in two years in the shape of new single 'Last'. From the very start this is an absolute shot in the arm of a song which bobs along with a gentle nudging bass line and dreamy guitar notes wafting along like an arm moving in waves out of the window of a moving car. This is a song for the morning after a nasty break up or the first really warm day of Spring where everything feels possible again but you still carry the scars of what you've been through. Hope and pain are perfectly balanced in a song that would sit nicely on a David Kitt album so I think we can all safely look forward to the forthcoming new EP that this heralds. Sublime stuff.
