Emma Kelly - Under Pressure

I nearly dismissed this one without giving it a fair crack of the whip but as soon as the percussive introduction hooks in to you then you know something different is happening here. Emma Kelly's 'Under Pressure' is nothing to do with the Queen and Bowie collaboration of legend but everything to do with being in your 20s during a time when all avenues seem closed off and nothing is ever good enough for a world run by rich, old, white guys detached from reality. Musically, there are hints of Kimbra, Lily Allen and Kate Nash but with a slicker pop vocal and a very 2022 sound that fits in nicely alongside the likes of Nina Nesbitt. A definite prospect and once worth paying attention to.
