PERSONAL TRAINER - SINGLE REVIEW

Personal Trainer - Key Of Ego

Release Date: Out Now

If there was a national policy behind the Dutch output of music it would surely be quality over quantity and Amsterdam's Personal Trainer are testamant to the success of that policy. 'Key Of Ego' starts with a combo of dirty bass, rattling drums and synth blasts before the vocals join in as a mix of mumbled words and shouted punctuation. There's a real 90s alt feel about this that sounds like a mix of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soulwax, Nerf Herder and Fungus all dicking around in a grungey sound studio with nothing but fun on their mind. Oh, and Beck is in the corner drawing portraits of everyone with dried pasta and wool. It's a lot but I like a lot. A lot.
