LOUIS DUNFORD - SINGLE REVIEW

Louis Dunford - The Angel (Sony)

Release Date: Out Now

I'm not sure quite how he's done it but Louis Dunford has made me tear up with nostalgia for a community that I was never really part of. Mad. The singer-songwriter's new single 'The Angel' is a love letter to his native North London delivered atop some gentle acoustic notes and sung with a Norf Lahndahn accent that is his own. There is nostalgia, commentary, emotion, memories and a real sense of a community ebbing and flowing with the generations without losing any sense of tradition and values. It's a beautiful Billy Bragg-esque song with its heart in the right place and the key changes set to bring a tear to your eye. Now, pull yourself together and lets go down the boozer. I'm not crying, you're crying...
