Amariia - Satellite

It can be hard at times like these to avoid getting swallowed up in the horrors of what is going on in the world, especially in Ukraine, so I'm really glad to be able to introduce you to Kyiv band Amariia and their new single 'Satellite'. "A shimmer of light in the darkness" is the opening line of this ambient rock number, sung out over a pulsating beat and moody piano melodies. Come the chorus, however, this song errupts in to the kind of uplifting and triumphant rock song that the Ukranian people might just need right now to see them through their darkest of hours. I'm not naive enough to suggest that music will have a hand in stopping the onward march of Putin but hope and defiance will and this song is full of both of those qualities. As the song says, "A shimmer of light in the darkness".
