Swedish outfit the Magnettes come roaring back with new single 'Monster' which combines two of my favourite things; melody and a killer bass line. While the bass bubbles away, the melodies snake around with elements of 60s pop, First Aid Kit, the Cardigans and Carpenters. There are some gorgeous vocal harmonies, a cheeky sense of fun and some woozy synth notes floating around in the background but it really comes down to a vibe and it's a playful one that jumps in to earworm mode pretty quickly.
