Welsh wizards Pigeon Wigs come blazing out of Cardiff with what just might be the strongest debut of the year and certainly one of the videos of the year. 'Near The Knuckle' kicks off with a swagger riff, a loose Madchester inspired beat and a sassy little bass line that get you in the mood for good times. The vocals sit somewhere between Kings of Leon and Black Grape (specifically, there is a different sound to BG than you get with the Happy Mondays) and the vibe is full or roadtrip-to-nowhere potential. Oh, and the video? It's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas but in Cardiff with lego. Fear and Lego in Cardiff, then.
