Turning the rock'n'roll cliche of locking up your daughters on its head is LA duo Joker's Hand with their new single 'Goth Girlfriend'. Churning guitars with a buzz saw edge are deployed with punchy drums to create a pop-punk anthem which rolls along at an unrelenting pace is the latest step in a long journey from a point where goths were a marker of fear or ridicule to a time where goths are desired and admired as a tribe of society. Musically this is aimed squarely at the emo market and that may be a little cynical but this is a good enough tune of Green Day-lite proportions to get away with it.
