CHARLIE STEEL - SINGLE REVIEW

Charlie Steel - Sunrise

Release Date: Out Now

Chilled beats and retro synth sounds are the order of the day on the new release from London artist Charlie Steel. 'Sunrise' features some laid back rapped vocals that feel like a heady mix of 'Parklife'-era Blur, the Streets, Collapsed Lung and Man Like Me all dancing in bad shirts around one of those mega cocktail buckets with sparkly straws. There are nods to the Pet Shop Boys and funky little flute melody in the chorus which, when you stand back from it, all makes for quite the tapestry of influences, sounds and ideas. Not an artist to be underestimated.
