'Que Calor!' is the result of the coming together of two giants of French music; The Liminanas and Laurent Garnier. What they have created in that coming together is something or genuine beauty which makes me want to go out to a club or a gig more than any other song has in the last 18 months. The blend of live drums, electro grooves, Spanish vocals that sound like James Murphy having funky language lessons and a sexy Air-esque animated music video make for a heady brew. This sounds like the kind of song that would have slayed in the 90s alongside the likes of the Chemical Brothers, early Daft Punk, Death in Vegas and others but don't mistake that for any suggestion of staleness or irrelevance. This is a song for now, get on it.
