Maisy Grace - 5 Minutes

The fact that Cornish singer-songwriter Maisy Grace is still in her teens isn't especially relevant until you start to listen to the opening strains of new single '5 Minutes'. The loose and rough beat is joined by a jazz influenced sparse melody and Maisy Grace's superbly soulful vocal to create a sound that is far more composed and mature than her years should allow. As the song progress it is easy (and recommended) to get lost in the floating, sun dappled vibes that sit nicely alongside the likes of Corinne Bailey Rae and Lana Del Rey but with a cool charm that is very much her own. I hate using the phrase 'one to watch' but the way things are going you'd be a fool to bet against Maisy Grace making bigger and bigger waves with each release.
