Norwegina musician Kate Havnevik has created quite, quite special with new single 'Into Dark'. The track is based around a dark, delicious and oozing bass pulse that makes it sound like Goldfrapp or Goose but the breathy vocals add a different, hypnotic vibe. When the beat fully drops in there is a Trent Reznor energy which all combines to make something that is darkly erotic but, according the press sheet and the lyrics, is actually about running away from it all, inspired by a book about people who fake their own deaths. This is a genuinely fascinating piece of music that I could listen to on a loop for hours while I hide inside a canoe crossing international waters for my new life as Manuel, the mild mannered accountant of Gibraltar.
