Arthr – Acronyms On Statues

Plymouth’s enigmatic musician and
animator is back with new single ‘Acronyms on Statues’ and it is a bop on its
own but when coupled with the video it is truly something special. Pumping
synths layer up to create the kind of instrumental experience that feels like
an Ibiza anthem to be played at sundown or sunup, or both. The video pairs this
up with dancing Roman soldiers, columns, detached feet stamping to the beat and
a whole bunch of yellow smoke. I would say Arthr has been predominantly known
for his excellent animation work but I think this track is a watershed moment
as the music really steps up to the plate to create that all-round experience.
