Roisin O hails from Ireland so you might be forgiven for expecting the soft vocals and wistful piano that introduces her new single '2023' but don't hold on to that stereotype. You see, from the first chorus onward this tune is an absolute banger of an alt-pop track that will lift your spirits, turn your frown upside down, put a spring in your step and generally energise you. Roisin O's voice has that perfect pop tone that the Swede's seem to have monopolised in recent years which carries you up of your sofa, out of the doldrums and in to a world where there is a future worth looking forward to. If you're struggling to drag yourself out of the pandemic then this might just be the song right now but this is for everyone really - kitchen disco to massive party, this track will go down a storm.
